Join Us As a Swimmer

PLEASE NOTE: Because of limited helpers and instructors (all of whom are volunteers), we are currently unable to accept new swimmers. However, if you want to complete and return an application form so that you are added to our waiting list, you are free to do that. On receiving a completed form from you, we will be in touch as soon as possible, when we are in a position to accept new swimmers.

Halliwick Penguins Swimming Club is run on an entirely voluntary basis and  has been teaching swimming and water confidence to people of all ages with disabilities in Enfield, Southgate and the surrounding areas for over 70 years.

We are affiliated to the Halliwick Association of Swimming Therapy (Halliwick AST) and teach swimming and water safety using the Halliwick Concept.

We are a friendly and supportive club. We do a lot of one-to-one work and group activity in the water but also have swimmers that can swim independently, some of them entering competitions.

All of our swimmers have a disability and swimmers must be members of the club.

Because of our limited resources there is a waiting list. However, if you have a disability and would like to join us, the first step is to contact us and tell us something about yourself.  You can do this by using the form on our Contact Us page.

You don’t have to be an experienced swimmer or even know how to swim; we would tailor what we do to your needs.

If you are interested in joining us as a swimmer then please contact us via the form on our Contact Us page. You can download an application form, a general information leaflet and our privacy policy by following the links below. You can also view and download other club policies relating to the running of the club.
